About Caroline Hinton’s Vocal Training:

Along with studying with other reputable voice instructors, Caroline Hinton had the immense honor of studying private voice for over 3 years with Louis Roney, who was named “A Tenor in the Grand Style!” by the New York Times.  During her time with Louis Roney, she learned a plethora of information about vocal technique, stage presence, pronunciation of foreign languages for song, how to perform a song upon knowledge of its context, as well as countless other facts about the arias and pieces studied.

“When I first read professor Roney’s resume I was very intimidated, but equally excited to learn from his past!  I was overwhelmingly honored to have been under scholarship by Louis Roney’s personal award foundation for select UCF music majors, where Mr. Roney taught after having retired from performing in the opera.  I know that the University must have been grateful to have such an accredited Harvard Graduate on staff.”  -Caroline Hinton.

Some of Louis Roney’s roles included being featured as the Lead Tenor in the following opera houses:

Opera de Paris, Berlin Städtische Oper, Hamburg Staatstheater, München Nationaltheater, Frankfurt Oper, Stuttgart Oper. Metropolitan Opera, and in a great number of other major opera companies throughout Western Europe and North America.

“I also greatly learned from professor Roney’s musical theatre class, where I first discovered my interest, and future love, of Musical Theatre/Broadway.  Most opera teachers that I have met are what I playfully call ‘opera snobs,’ but Mr. Roney’s musical diversity was refreshing to me and he always made our private and group classes fun and driven.  I owe so much to this teacher who believed in me, encouraged me and, sometimes sternly, drove my learning forward.  I loved him like family and I am forever indebted to him.  It is my greatest professional goal in life to leave my students with even a semblance of this kind of memory of me when they eventually spread their wings and fly.”

Other Skills: Trilingual (German & French), Italian Pronunciation, Acting, Basic Piano, Modeling, Personal Training, and Sales.
